ETI Tech posts RM4.2m net profit in 1Q09

KUALA LUMPUR: ETI Tech Corporation Bhd’s net profit has dipped 3.5% to RM4.22 million in its first quarter ended Nov 30, 2008 from RM4.37 million a year earlier as it registered increased overhead costs.
Its revenue for the quarter rose 8.8% to RM19.47 million from RM17.90 million, contributed mainly by sales of existing products, the company told Bursa Malaysia.
ETI Tech’s basic earnings per share stood at 1.86 sen, compared with 1.93 sen previously.
The company’s products include portable power pack, personal digital assistant batteries, radio control batteries, Bluetooth headset batteries, nano mobile charger and green genset.
Moving forward, ETI Tech expects to continue to achieve satisfactory performance for the year ending Aug 31, 2009.
“As the world’s demand for energy grows, along with worries over depleting energy sources and global warming, the group – which provides innovative energy storage solutions – foresees an increase in demand for its products,” it said.
On Jan 13, the company entered into a distributor agreement with Compugates Sdn Bhd to distribute its nano mobile series in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Cambodia.
